I have only seen this show on "teh internets", but I laughed because the people were idiots.

Don't you normally have to sign a release for tv?

Edit: It appears to side-step the requirement as it is a "news" show.

I wonder how well that would hold up in court though.

While I'm glad the preverts are off the street I'm not too happy that the program shows their faces and names and gives bio information before they're convicted of anything.

I think the program does it because at that point they are convicted sex offenders... and that information is public anyway. When someone is convicted here they put it in the news paper. There is also website where you put in your zipcode and it will tell you who has been convicted and where they live.

As long as they are honest and show only what actually happened, I don't think there's any problem with the show. If there is extensive commentary about how these guys should be locked up forever, I think that would be crossing a line.

There are those that believe criminals should be able to vote. They are often liberal in ideology.

I would say they are more of a libertarian ideology.

Either way sex predator shows in Texas is obviously a liberal conspiracy to remove republican voters in key districts.

It's not so much the releasing of the information that I am questioning, but the fact it claims to be news when it is obviously aimed at entertaining - and in that case a release is usually required. I am not sure of the law, but I don't think that committing a crime means that no longer applies.

You shouldn't be able to vote in jail. There is no reason to prevent someone from voting once they have served their time.

...served their sentence. If they get 10 years and serve 6 and are on parole for 4 they still shouldn't be voting during those 4 years (IMO).

In Germany the law even calls on prisons to encourage prisoners to vote. Only those convicted of electoral fraud and crimes undermining the "democratic order", such as treason are barred from voting, while in prison.[3]
I agree with this
