| A phisher site looks like a real site such as ebay or paypal. But it is just setup by some 3rd party trying to get your login info. You usually get a link to it through an official looking email. When you get to the site you log in... and unwittingly give away your screen name and password to some scammer. Sometimes the sites will make you update your cc info and what not. The scammer then uses your info to buy stuff and or steal your identity. | ||||

| They will mock up a fake site that looks like your bank's site or paypal or something else. You will get an email saying you need to change your PW for some reason and they will have a fake link like this, www.cnn.com <-- mouseover, that takes you to their site. You enter your user info on the fake site and poof, there goes your info. | ||||
