Bryan says it best, so I'll leave him to tell you: Disgusting. Top House Democrats, working in concert with anti-war groups, have decided against using congressional power to force a quick end to U.S. involvement in Iraq, and instead will pursue a slow-bleed strategy designed to gradually limit the administration’s ...

| god what a crock of shit... ![]() and I'm not talking about Murtha, but the tool you ripped the article from. I don't even know where to start. Terrorist Assistance Plan? Sounds like more 9/11 whipper snapping to me. commenting on the bleeding? wtf transferring more and more control to the ISF over time is what the fucking plan was from the beginning, not sitting there entrenched slowing adding more troops to the insignificant "surge" which is actually a "trickle" considering it's only 20.5k over 2 months. | ||||

| I think there is a HUGE difference between transferring power over time and slowly cutting our forces back when they're not ready. Don't you? | ||||

All withdraw plans I have seen include more funding and training for the ISF, and above all else not leaving until there is a consensus that the ISF is taking over operations. it's not just, "we're going to pull and and you can go fuck yourselves," It's, "We're slowly going to fade into the background while you and the ISF begin taking control of operations. We'll still be here, even after the majority of the forces have left, however we will not be directly involved in security." All withdraw plans include adjustments regarding the readiness of the ISF and the Iraqi Government. All withdraw plans also include a number of forces left in the outlying areas, however not directly involved in operations, but available to assist when needed to help in the transition. It really helps to read the actual plans instead of an Editorial commenting on bits and pieces. | ||||

| Some of the language is over the top. Not that anyone hear would admit the same with the leftist internet crap that gets posted as valid opinion. I think the bottom line is they are trying to control "policy" with budget rules and restraints. The responcible thing is to have a clear policy and then pay for it or not. What they want to do undercut the Administration and the Pentagons ability to craft policy with budget micromanagement. Too bad the President can't simply shut down all military operations in San Francisco (they hate the military anyway) and Pennsylvania and pay for troops that way!
