You see, I have this point of view... that if someone has the drive to do something, they should be able to do it.

Having kids at a young age shouldn't mean you're doomed to work 3 jobs while having to pay for education yourself. It shouldn't mean that you are lumped in with worthless people.

I feel that people who prove themselves should be given opportunity. That you shouldn't look at someone's past and label them as "fucked for life."

I'm against abortion, so when my GF (now wife) got pregnant, there's no way I was going to abort. It's taken me 10 years to get my life on track, and to get moving in education.

I've worked my ass off to not only provide for my family, but to better myself so I in turn can give my children what they need and what I lacked.

Because they paid for it, not you... It's the same thing to be honest... should your coworkers suck up the cost of your tuition? It works the same way. If they didn't pay you tuition, by your logic that money could've gone to you and your coworker's salaries.

I did the math and figured out UPS was going to put $10k/year ($2500/semester) toward school so I could either work another year and quit and go back full-time, or quit now and go back part-time and work part-time but get a jump on my classes. UPS offers tuition reimbursement as an incentive, that's why I took the job. I didn't ask my co-workers to suck up my tuition. Anyone working my shift had that opportunity.

yes, I do.. I base my views on experience... I'm sorry but I feel it's better to discuss what I have seen and done as opposed to what I read on the internet.

The money for it comes from people choosing to use UPS's service. UPS was having a hard time attracting people to certain shifts so they offered tuition reimbursement as an incentive. They didn't drive from house to house taking money from everyone.

A private company choosing to use part of their profits to pay tuition for employees is WORLDS apart from the govt taking money from everyone so you can go to school on the cheap.

If you disagree with UPS taking their profits and paying tuition you can choose to use FEDEX or the post office. If you disagree with the feds using your taxes to give loans there's essentially nothing you can do about it.
