Rudy has some plane demands of his own

About a year ago, we learned that Dick Cheney, whenever he travels, makes a series of specific demands for hotels where he’ll stay, including having all hotel-room TVs tuned to Fox News.
But if you thought the VP was being a bit of a diva, wait until you see what Rudy Giuliani demands.

In addition to his $100,000 speaking fee, the former mayor insists that he be shuttled to and from any event by a private plane — and not just any plane, mind you!
“Please note that the private aircraft MUST BE a Gulfstream IV or bigger,” notes the contract, referring to a $30 million jet that can clock 600 mph.
Once there, Hizzoner demands that he be met by “one sedan and one large SUV,” and booked into a hotel room “with a king-size bed, on an upper floor, with a balcony and view,” plus four more rooms on the same floor for his entourage.

Believe it or not, it gets worse.
A “man of the people” he is not.

I don't think there's much of a difference between celebrity from [lack of] talent or celebrity from being a politician. In both cases you end up making lots of money by touring and have the potential to become a diva.

I'd bet most "big" politicians are the same way. And if not, then they're new to the celebrity.

It's a good reason to keep new blood in government.

It's funny to see a thread 5 pages long, with conservatives crying bloody murder at the Speaker of the House using a C-32, and yet suddenly it's perfectly fine to see these kinds of demands from a conservative candidate.

Honestly one would think that a conservative wouldn't lavishly flaunt money. McCain traveled in a bus in 2000, that's how true conservatives roll.

Like I said before, if it's not my tax dollars I can't cry about it. But if say, my university asked Rudy to come speak, and he demanded 100k and bigass fucking jet, I'd tell him to go fuck himself and it would definitely tarnish any speeches I see him give anywhere else.

I certainly don't mean to sound like I'm defending the actions of celebrities. Conservative, liberal, actor, or musician doesn't matter when it comes to celebrity, what matters is that they become "too big for their britches" as my mother would put it. All we can do in most cases is roll our eyes... but for politicians we can always vote them out of office, but even then, once their celebrity status is achieved, it doesn't go away for a while.
