Yes. I've said that pretty consistantly when the question has arisen in threads we have taken.
I don't think those people are "bad people" for the most part. They grew up here, had friends, went to school, graduated, decided to persue a career in service of this country, etc..
I wonder whether or not they're simply incapable of dealing with the stresses of war that they had to endure..
That said, we can't allow crimes like that to go unpunished, because they're illegal, immoral, and wrong. We should give them every benefit of the doubt and allow them a trial, find out whether or not it was mental instability, etc, but ultimately, they should be punished if there aren't circumstances that absolve them from wrongdoing.
