I can say I honestly don't care. History can judge the outcome, but for now we need to stop worrying about the "why" and just finish shit and get home. It won't happen anytime soon now though. Too much going on in the region to not have a heavy US troop presence, atleast under the ideology of our current administration.

I think we need to worry about the "why" so that people can be accountable for their screw ups. In this case, tenet recieved a medal of freedom, condoleeza gets promoted, and rumsfeld still has a job.

which do you think it was?
What about a third choice...

3.) Saddam got rid of his weapons or had most of them destroyed by gulf war one, but he still wanted to posture himself as a tough guy to avoid a situation with people like Iran.

He was bluffing, we called his bluff and got burnt.

Intel is far from perfect. The whole world believed Iraq still had an active weapons program. Sadly they were wrong.

Except he kept his bio weapon program active until 1995.

I want to know what went wrong and how to fix it. However, I want the job done and our men and women serving abroad home first. I think the majority of American's want to know the "why", but the majority of our politicians can't figure out who messed up without it becomming a political mess.

Why can't we worry about the "why", years down the road, especially since it has no real affect on things going on now? The only reason for finding out the "why" right now is so people can point fingers and start the mudslinging.

We will find it out eventually. We have other things more important to worry about now, dont you agree?

Scrumtralecent likes to say he is sexually active but do you really think he is using his taepodong? Exactly.

There was plenty of intel that was withheld that suggested he did not actually have weapons. We just didn't hear both sides of the story. While the whole world might have thought he had them, one country decided to invade.

Don't get me wrong, i supported this on day 1. They turned out wrong they should be held accountable. They took action, the world didn't. The world ended up right in the end on this one.

I agree that we need to focus and get them home asap. But I also think it is possible to have one group focus on the "why" and the others focus on getting Iraq into a condition in which we can leave.

I sell bridges to people at a great rate. I just sold the Golden Gate bridge yesterday, not many are left.

(The 50% who still believe Iraq had WMD's are my prime targets so the more people to self identify themselves, the better my business!!)

Ballz, pm me if your interested in the Brooklyn Bridge at a very special rate for LL members only. Hurry, this deal is going fast.

PS, I also sell air, pebbles, dirt, dust, etc. Pretty much anything that seems to have no value or cannot be sold.

I guess some people still believe Elvis isn't dead, so it's not a far stretch to realize 50% of the American people still think Iraq had WMD's. I still hear reference to the Iraq WMD's on message boards, blogs, and talk shows.

Blame
The main reason to work out what happened is so that we can ub=nderstand what is being attempted.

What, who, why etc
A bunch of idealogues who had gained power by jumping onto Bush's ticket knowingly & deliberately misrepresented the true nature, quality & extent of the WMD evidence as they felt that the US populace were too unsophisticated to understand point/need of exerting a global hegenomy. Maybe they were right, ..., but committing the US people to a near irreversible lengthy programe of sacrifice without their fully informed consent was a f*cking stupid thing to do, as it greatly decreases the possibility of the plans success
