| Baloney. There have been very good adaptions of Stephen King books as well as poor ones and people have said that as well. Good adaptions are "The Stand", the remake of "The Shining", and "The Langoliers". The poorest adaptions has been "It" and any of the "Salem's Lot". Sating something like that is just hype and takes away from those who want to see the adaption for their own ends. | ||||

Kubrick's Shining is awesome, and John Carpenter's Christine is a very good movie, and come on, who doesn't like the Shawshank Redemption? It's one of the highest ranked movies on IMDB, right up there with the Godfather. Firestarter and Cujo are both great books that were pretty decent movies too. (I thought George C. Scott was awesome in Firestarter.) Also gotta give some love to the ledge story in Cat's Eye, and "The Raft" from Creepshow 2. | ||||

| I think it really depends what order you do stuff in. If you read the books first, I'm not sure the movie will ever do it justice because you've essentially decided how certain things should look, sound, etc.. in your mind ahead of time. If you watch a movie first though and then try to read the book, it's weird. Or at least, it has been for me. I've never read any of the Harry Potter books, but my understanding is that the books are much different than the movie.. it's just impossible to fit everything in an hour and a half I suppose | ||||
