| The man says he was never a Republican You say look at the bank accounts, I did and see only democratic donations...and like i said before giving to the republicans is not a mortal sins...i mean...they're not liberatarians or anything! I know several people with too much money (like Barkley) who throw in money to GOP candidates to screw up primaries, or support a republican who will lead to better democratic policies I really don't think he was active in politics at all in 1984...so that means we're talking about Bush I, who was a pretty moderate guy, and I don't recall Barkley being all anti-Clinton, then 2000 Bush and Gore were so identical on many issues that many people gave great arguments that you should vote for Nader...really picking Bush over Gore wasn't a big crime...the way Gore was acting at the time with his extremely moderate agenda, and in 2004 Barkley gave to populist (aka socialist) John Edwards | ||||

There's quotes all over the internet about him saying he was a republican and the support he had for the GOP. There is no denying that he was a Republican 10 years ago. Over the past few years he changed to the Democrats, he admits it himself. He now supports Edwards and the Dems and is running away from his support of anything GOP like most Democrats are doing nowadays... It's not surprising. But the proof has been posted. Talking about 04 and saying it was 10 years ago or your opinions of 1984 does not disprove what I have said. I'm repeatedly going around in circles here defending things I never said.

| I am not sure i understand the whole "hes republican hes democrat" debate as there are people who switch parties all the time. Wes Clark voted for Nixon and Reagan. Jim Webb worked with the Reagan administration as republican and switched. Then you have those like Zell Miller who basically go the other way, or Ronald Reagan who was a democrat before switching republican. I am not sure I care whether he is republican or democrat. For political argument sake, it may be better if he is a republican who says "get the soldiers out", as it is the republicans who need convincing there is a better way than george bush's failed ideas. | ||||
