| I don't know enough about Barkley to support him for any public office. However there have been several professional athletes turned politician in the past so why not if the people elect him? Couln't be any worse than actors/comedians that have or are running I suppose. | ||||

The point I am trying to get at is his opinion is still important, just as everyone elses is, and shouldn't be simply disregarded because he is not a general or member of the administration. That is one of my primary problems with the current administration and republicans in general. If the president or vp doesn't say it, it doesn't mean shit, so we should just follow Bush with his failed policy because obviously Bush knows what he is talking about on the issue.

| 10 years ago Barkley was a Republican and the left all said he wasn't a good role model and didn't know what he was talking about... I agree, he isn't a good role model. Whether he knows what he's talking about or not, I'd chalk him up as knowing about as much as George Clooney, Susan Sarandon or the Dixie Chicks until he proves otherwise. | ||||
