Let me repeat. Gores GAS BILL is more than my mortgage each month. As far as I know you can't get natural gas from solar, nuclear or wind power. But I might be mistaken.

He's obviously very wasteful and a hypocrite.

The latest excuse is how Gore "buys" carbon credits like he is some kind of Industry! He better check with his "Green" friends because some oppose these credits.

It reminds me of an objection to the Catholic Church by the Protestants. The clergy would sell forgiveness of sins to the rich!

Natural gas is used for heating. You could use electric, but gas is better as it's not a fossil fuel.

I don't believe that gas causes environmental problems other than those assiciated with it's collection and transportaion. You could say the same of foodstuffs.

It's the cleanest of the fossil fuels.

Natural gas burns cleaner than other fossil fuels, such as oil and coal, and produces less greenhouse gas per unit energy released. For an equivalent amount of heat, burning natural gas produces about 30% less carbon dioxide than burning petroleum and about 45% less than burning coal.

But many of us DO do something. For example, I recycle essentially everything that is recyclable. What does Al do?

Don't you think he'd be more effective if he walked his talk?

If he does 20x more than me, it should be easy to tell me what he does, right?

Not only that, but I don't even own a car, and I leave my heat at 60 degrees, and I don't shower at hot temperatures (heat is by gas), and I only wash clothes or dishes at full loads. I can't really imagine I could do any more.

What do you do, friend to all?

There are a lot of things you can do that you're not. The fact that Gore "talks" about them is a key point...talking leads to education. So when you say "there isn't much more I can do" that is just lack of education and Gore is there to fill that void for you.
