Not surprised... Moore won for that crappy Bowling for Columbine back in 2002. As much hype as global warming has gotten this past year, it aligns nicely with Moore in 2002 (when shootings and shit were all the media rage).

Iraq in Fragments and Jesus Camp were two excellent documentaries he had to beat out...both fit the "liberal hollywood" mythical agenda people claim the voters have

It was a true accomplishment, people doing documentaries this year risked their lives more than any I can imagine (I'm talking about Iraq in Fragments producers almost getting killed by Iraqis)

Haven't seen Iraq in Fragments, but have seen Jesus Camp and I'm sure both were actual documentaries.

Gore's movie is no more a "documentary" than Moore's movies. A propaganda movie with huge bias and little facts does not make it a documentary.

That's what got me about Moore winning 5 years ago. He even admitted that he tricked people and cut the movie to push his agenda, and was not at all sorry about it... he said something along the lines of it being entertainment or that's hollywood or whatever. I was like "wtf, documentaries aren't hollywood... they're supposed to tell a true story highlighting something the greater population knows nothing about so that when they finish it, they are more informed." I mean, fuck, Borat shoulda won then.

changing "nothing about" to "little about" and that is exactly what an IC did, and why its a good chance he'll get a Nobel Peace prize in addition to the Oscar

Man, that would be the ultimate suck. It would belittle the accomplishments of people like Norman Borlaug who has fed billions of people... all Gore has done is scared maybe a million people and allowed another couple million to rally behind him saying "yeah, that's what we've been saying! Global Warming is going to kill us all!"

Remember, I'm all about a cleaner environment, but what pisses me off about some of this shit is that flagrant use of scare tactics with no reasonable solution. You want the nobel peace prize for fixing the environment? Then create cheap fuel usable by everyone... or get China on board being friendly to the environment (they're the fucking #1 polluting nation). If you can actually affect something huge like that, THEN you are deserving of recognition. Not for turning "The Day After Tomorrow" into a documentary.
