Inexperience, no.. a folly he should own up to and apologize for... yes.

And I can't speak for someone who hasn't given an opinion in this thread and only posts a couple times a week. Perhaps you can PM him if you're concerned about his opinion on this issue.

So now Obama is a new driver?

You do know he was in politics before he was elected into the senate?

That's ok. I was just comparing the reactions in the limited way you allowed.

There is a difference between the troops saying they do not have body armor and offering their subjective evaluation of the situation. king is always said they're not paid to think, and I'll take him at his word on that. There's also plenty of evidence suggesting that the normal, average soldier doesn't have a good grasp on the overall situation in Iraq.

What he said is 100% correct. What Obama said was 100% correct. He shouldn't have apologized and McCain shouldn't either. The only reason they are being attack for their comments is political and therefore invalid.

He's new to the scrutiny of the mainstream media. Yes, he's a novice and a newcomer to the senate and a presidential candidate. This is McCain's third attempt. McCain has been in the senate roughly 25 years and has made three runs at the presidency. Obama is a newcomer to national politics.

Keep in mind though, that being inexperienced in politics is not an insult. At least I don't think so.
A serious Question for Democrat Party Voters?

You're acting as if I'm biased towards McCain. I prefer Obama over McCain by leaps and bounds. The only two people I like running for president right now are Rudy and Obama. But, I'm not going to hold a double standard on McCain here just because I don't like him.

But you can use their word as evidence and I can't?

That is very logical.

Once you give proofs that the comments are 100% correct....

But at the Senate today Obama defended McCain, surmising that McCain was trying to say what he had been trying to: that the troops deserved better planning and preparation than the Bush administration had given them.
Obama does the classy thing *tip of the hat*

I think lives are only 'wasted' when someone, and individual, wastes it themselves, by not leading a productive, meaningful life. If anyone fights for their country with bravery and valor, then their lives are not wasted. There are more here on LL wasting their lives than there are fighting for their country in Iraq.

I'm becoming VERY annoyed at people who say American lives are 'wasted' in Iraq, and I'm even more annoyed with those that agree with them.
I feel lives are wasted when the reasons for getting into the conflict are shown to have been false, and that those that send them there knew it to be false.

I find them wasted when pride and stubborness takes the place of intelligence and wisdom.

I feel lives are wasted when those are sent without the best equipment they can find.

And they are wasted when the goals are either not set, or set to a level in which nobody agrees is possible.

All these cases are true for Iraq.

Oh yeah, to back up motivez's statement, the surge isn't working...not yet at least

1990 in January divided by 31 is
64 per day.

1646 in February divided by 27 is
61 per day. (No data from 28th)

What we did TEMPORARILY stop is the rule of large sections of baghdad by militias, but insurgents took advantage of militias pulling out by increasing precision attacks on unguarded areas

The US has had NO MAJOR military victories in Baghad, despite tens of thousands of death squad members
