The mother paid basically nothing in taxes so you can't use that argument, local charities can't micromanage all millions of american children to see if they are getting their proper checkups...not that they could afford it anyway it would cost billions of dollars a year I guess the free-market solution is let the kid die | ||||

The reality is socialized medicine would decrease the quality of care for everyone and result in more deaths than a freak accident. If they were kicked off Medicaid it means their income was greater than the cutoff. As soon as it got infected he should have been treated at a hospital (which would have worked out a payment plan or done the procedure for free if the mother was uninsured and couldn't pay). The other option is a free clinic. For example if you owe $1k, the hospital will ask what you can pay and will allow you to pay a fraction of that over time. It's better than getting nothing. But yes, illegals can get free coverage without showing identification. If you come in and say I'm uninsured and I have no money, etc etc... they're legally not allowed to turn you away. | ||||

How can their credit get ruined with no SSN? etc etc. A hospital in the Trenton area is looking to close down and move closer to Lawrenceville area. It's only 7 miles, but it will force the illegals and poor from Trenton to go to another hospital so they can eat all the costs. The move is supposedly going to make the hospital more money, but it will likely close down the other hospital who will not be able to sustain all the free treatment it will be legally forced to provide.
