Overall I think this was a very good performance by Edwards.

The good part comes in at about 30 seconds left in the clip. If you're watching it for the first time watch only the last 30 seconds of the clip cause that's probably all the blogosphere is going to report. Click play, then pause. wait for the video to load and scroll until there's 30 seconds left in the clip. I recommend going back and watching the whole clip cause he does a really good job aside from this goof.

I understand what he's saying, but this is gonna be all over the blogs mocking him in no time. A trial lawyer taking millions off medical malpractice lawsuits raising our insurance premiums and making millions of product liability lawsuits, saying he made his success by taking advantage of America?

I wonder if this will be on the late shows tonight... Maybe it's just me, but I chuckle when I heard him say that and the way he pepped up when he said it. This is gonna be a good soundbite.

I like him.


I dont agree with his ideas about Universal Healthcare.....other than that he seems like a great guy all around.

That's not a sound bite for the GOP. That's a sound bite for the people. We should ALL be taking advantage of ALL the opportunities we get in this country.

I know that the rich people have taken advantage of our laws to obtain more wealth.
The poor take advantage of our Social system for help.
The people take advantage of their rights on a daily basis.

If his statement could ever be taken in anything other than that context to make it sound as if he was molesting America, or Sexually Assaulting America, then we are truely living in the end times.

"Next on Fox...Edwards and America: Did America get taken advantage of or was it just a mutual affection for one another?"






Think about it...you only get out of America what you are willing to work hard to take for yourself.

I think you have a major difference between "taking advantages" and making "opportunities" work for you. The first sounds like handouts and special privilege, while opportunities are something more general where you must make an effort. But there are no guarantees of success. I think the later is what this country is all about.
