| Sen. Hagel (R) to run for President WASHINGTON, March 7 — Senator Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, who has been one of the fiercest Republican critics of the Iraq war, intends to make clear on Monday whether he will seek his party’s 2008 presidential nomination, a spokesman said Wednesday. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/03/08/us...=1&oref=slogin Wow, a Republican I would consider voting for...until I realized Justice Stevens is approx. a billion years old Sure his values are conservative, but he'd finally get us out of this stupid "who is more patriotic" pissing contest because he's more anti-war than half the democrats in the senate, and his arguments are better than many democrats put together I guess its mostly because he's a Republican so he can say whatever he wants without getting questioned So what do you guys think of him as a candidate? BTW This opens up a seat for Scott Kleeb in Nebraska to run for...Dos what are you thoughts on that? There are other Dems in Nebraska that could run | ||||

| I'm not sure why he's going to run, his chances of getting the nod are slim to none because of the grip the religious right has on the GOP. | ||||

| So you like Hagel because he is anti-Iraq, but you don't like Paul even though Paul is clearly the most anti-war candidate in all of Washington? | ||||

| Hagel is hard core republican other than the issue of Iraq. In fact I think he is by far the most conservative that has entered the pool other than maybe Paul. Hagel would get the nod before Rudy or McCain in my opinion when it comes to conservative voters. Hagel is not for gun legislation, not for gay marriage, and is a "pro-life" person. Rudy and McCain just won't sit well with the jesus and gun people. | ||||

| gun control doesn't interest me that much, gay marriage thats complicated, and like i said pro-life i couldn't care less...except they appoint justices the conservative "so...do you really like america" line is so polarizing and they use it so often about ron paul...im for trying to dismantle the government, hagel would consider government spending that could really help people, RP would think he's just so cool to veto everything... | ||||
