Admin Will Not Oppose U.S. Attorney Law Change
While we didn’t get any better explanation for these unprecedented firings, two important developments came from this meeting. First, the Attorney General told us the Administration would not oppose our legislation requiring Senate confirmation for all U.S. Attorneys. Second, in one form or another, each of the five Department of Justice witnesses will be made available to us for questioning. The details and venue are still being worked out, but we are hopeful they will cooperate."

This story makes the GOP look horrible...again...calling up Federal Offices and intimidating them to try and prosecute democrats before the election
This may make the GOP Senator who is getting senile (walking around capitol hill in his pajamas) from NM retire...NM is heavily democratic at the state level and it would be a shoe in...it was a minor miracle Bush won that state, he just never clicked with hispanic democrats there, however any local Dem would win easy, also the one lone GOP rep in the delegation is likely to lose over this as well
Another Senate and House seat...count'em
BTW Libertarians are free to hail the democrats for limiting the patriot act
