Just got back from 300

A fantastic movie. I only had one small complaint, it's a little too cute in one part, something about about a leg cramp, you'll see it.

I thought it was a little repetitive after the first wave...but i mean, its not like i want a refund

i was surprised my fiance liked it, im like "WTF even i didn't like it that much?" and shes like "did u check out all those bodybuilders that were on screen constantly?"

:/

I thought it was good. One thing I noticed was the awkward special effects. In one scene you'll see a someone get beheaded and their lifeless body falls to the ground. Perfect. In another scene someone will get their head lopped off and the effects look like something out of Shrek... I was wondering if I suddenly was watching a cartoon.

The effects were good and bad, when they were bad it was a bit distracting. It's like they hired a couple companies to do effects and one of them didn't earn their paycheck...

how faithful to the original Miller stuff is it?

I ask coz many of the same ppl are involved with making Watchmen, which is probably better suited to a tv mini-series.

I hate to see Watchmen ruined.

I rarely go to the flicks but I might go see 300 if it is more than just a slugfest

I've heard from friends that it follows the original Frank Miller graphic novel, almost exactly

So far I've only heard good things from women, and that's all they've been talking about

the only thing i really liked about that movie was the, "we're not gonna take this shit" attitude that the spartans had. i had a fun time watching it being out with friends, the fight scenes were kinda cool, so im not feeling like i wasted my money. but it wasnt as good as i expected, im not even sure if i'd by the DVD.

the trailer for spiderman 3 was awesome, though.

It was fantastic

I love these type of films.

Ironic that the Spartans that were fighting for freedom were slaves themselves, but a great film nontheless.

Yea when he said freedom isn't free, I cringed wondering what outside political effects were gonna come from that line.

The whole frank miller 300 is funny...its so full of historical inaccuracies beyond the expected over-drama and gore

I mean, people will understand that the freaks were symbolic, but even parts people were supposed to think were historical...basically most of the movie...was full of BS

they explain the exposure that like thats their one and only dark seceret, when in fact the much worse part is the villages that supported them, that they conquered generations ago, were annually declared "in revolt" and spartans slaughtered any strong looking teen who might develop into a warrior who could challenge them one day

The only reason the spartans were so military like was because they had to constantly slaughter their subjects, no matter how peaceful...not to mention they left out the homosexuality that was common in spartan women and men...particularly women when their men were on "ethnic weakening" campaigns

oh theres too much, i understand that people are supposed to realize its not historically accurate, but they're going to think SOME of it is true, and that's just ridiculous
