| Anyone can have any opinion they want. I personally think some people on this forum are nut jobs and yet I realize they do not speak for their companies as this professor does not speak for Carnegie Melon. | ||||

I'm not worried about him representing our universities. I'm worried about what people like this are implementing into the education system.

Should we implement a strict separation of politics and higher education? You've identified a problem, what do you suggest be done to fix it?

| So they should send in someone undercover to sit in his class? They should review his syllabus before he is allowed to teach or hand it out? How would they "watch" him? Professors are fairly independent. BTW, At my University, there are guidelines as to what you can post on University servers, even if it's your own page. Although we are public funded, so Carnegie Melon may not be concerned. | ||||

| The problem is, that some subject matter is completely subjective, and it is infused with opinions. I don't think you can really teach well without being willing to express an opinion or your understanding.
