He did not suggest gays are inferior or should be discriminated against, he just believes that homesexual acts are immoral. Since when is this a cause for a public outcry? This type of sentiment will have no effect on his job performance because he doesn't seem to have any problem with people being gay, and the don't ask don't tell policy insulates him from knowledge that would allow this to affect any decisions anyway. The guy makes a comment suggesting he believes homosexual acts are immoral and he is getting pushed around for it. I think he should be entitled to his personal opinion and the pressure on him is ridiculous. I usually don't like the "liberal conspiracy"-type of label, but this seems to fit the bill. If you announce a personal view that isn't in perfect harmony with the "liberal conspiracy", you can expect to be stoned publicly. The marketplace of ideas is being slowly killed off, and it's a sad, sad thing. | ||||

| I am not sure if i would be offended, if i was gay, that he called my private sex moments immoral. In the context of which he said it he basically said they should not allow gays in the military. That is discriminating against those who want to serve because of their private sexual preferences...something that i find ridiculously silly. | ||||

| As a raised catholic I was taught to believe that all you protestants are going to burn in hell for being heretics If I was ever head of the military, I wouldn't have shared my moral views He's a public official at the head of the military, if he wants to call people under him immoral, that's crossing the line as a public official | ||||
