So Foxnews boils down to oreilly? Perfect, his show is half lies.

You guys with this liberal hollywood/media thing have problems. It's in your head. There are people from all walks of life all over. Places like Foxnews are creating this hype.

i watch fox news, but only the morning and evening news and it's local, so it's probably not what you're talking about anyway. But you can tell on there who leans which way, but they do do a good job of getting people on both sides to chime in on different issues. locally anyway.

then again, it's Boston local Fox news. the "Boston" sorta balances out the "Fox" anyway.

I think the big deal is FOX portrays itself as a news channel, yet really report things with a major slant.

CNN, MSNBC, et al report the news with little bias, then go into talk shows where bias may show more. FOX is bias everywhere. News is "here's what happened, draw your own conslusion", FOX is "here's what happened and here's what it means."

Here ya go, proof of bias, hope ya got some time to read .

Fox News Spins 9/11 Commission Report
The Most Biased Name in News
Fox's Slanted Sources
http://elsa.berkeley.edu/~sdellavi/w...te06-03-30.pdf

And this from one of FOX's own employees:

Norvell is London bureau chief for Fox News, and on May 20 he let the mask slip in, of all places, the Wall Street Journal. So far, the damage has been contained, because Norvell's comments—in an op-ed he wrote decrying left-wing bias at the BBC—appeared only in the Journal's European edition. But Chatterbox's agents are everywhere.

Here is what Norvell fessed up to in the May 20 Wall Street Journal Europe:

"Even we at Fox News manage to get some lefties on the air occasionally, and often let them finish their sentences before we club them to death and feed the scraps to Karl Rove and Bill O'Reilly. And those who hate us can take solace in the fact that they aren't subsidizing Bill's bombast; we payers of the BBC license fee don't enjoy that peace of mind.

Fox News is, after all, a private channel and our presenters are quite open about where they stand on particular stories. That's our appeal. People watch us because they know what they are getting. The Beeb's institutionalized leftism would be easier to tolerate if the corporation was a little more honest about it."

I haven't read the PDF but Fair.org and Slate.com aren't exactly reputable sources. I mean Fair.org admits to being biased.

They release this magazine:

Quoting Fair.org is like quoting Air America, only they're willing to admit they're biased.

I only posted Slate cause of the quote from a FOX employee, and thus did not post the entire article.

Also while FAIR may lean left on "issues," they have just as many articles holding CNN, ABC, MSNBC, etc feet to the fire as they do FOX. So in their main mission of "fairness and accuracy in reporting", they are really the only media watchdog group. Unless we expect the media to watch themselves?

It may not be perfect, but it's all we got, lol.

Also Slate.com admits to bias, especially in their editorials. Chatterbox is written by someone as wacky as Anne Coulter.

The overall production of slate is widely considered further left than The New Republic. Their editorials, especially their chatterbox is ever further left than that.

When trying to prove media bias you can't select sources that are more biased than the one you are claiming holds bias.

There's: Media Research Center Home Page - 3/22/2007 1:25:13 PM

They're the same as FAIR just on the opposite end of the spectrum.

I'm not arguing Fox has a bias. I definitely admit they do. And perhaps the PDF is a good source, I don't have time to go through it. But Fair.org and an editorial from Slate isn't a fair means of proving media bias from another source.
