Uhm...he is allowed to be cross-examined, and his facts are all over presentations, his presentation and speech was verbatim what he's been giving overseas...

If any Republicans is too stupid to see his works he's been doing in film, book or speeches for YEARS, then they're not going to figure anything out by getting his opening statements

Politicians aren't experts on global warming or scientists. When anyone presents a scientific speech such as this it is customary to give notice so they can find their own data to contradict or bring up. Gore purposely didn't allow them to do so. If Republicans brought in a guy who was against global warming hysteria like Tim Ball he didn't give notice of content prior to his speech you'd be shitting cans right now.

Ask your neighbors who Tim Ball is, ask them who Al Gore is...

If they're not familiar with Al Gore's work they could have their staff give them a 10 minute summary of an IT since everyone in DC has seen it and that's basically exactly what he said

I mean really comparing Tim Ball to Al Gore

It's comparing two opposing views on global warming. A lot of people are familiar with Tim Ball's work. But they don't know what he's going to say when he gets up there. It makes absolutely no difference what they've said in the past. What matters is what they are going to say. And you're supposed to let them know so they can analyze it prior to your speech. That's how it works. All the threads I've seen complaining about GOP violating protocol and somehow when Gore does it it's suddenly ok because everyone knows Gore and therefore it's cool. That's the same bullshit attitude Gore had about the issue and it's not ok.

Yeah, your neighbors all know about Tim Ball as an anti-global warming scientists? Wow nice community

No GOP person was unprepared for Gore or his comments, there are exceptions to rules

Also there's a difference between a member of Congress and a former politician

The GOP knew exactly what he was going to say and were more prepared for him than any witness I can remember, he didn't bring in any new radical research that put the GOP members in shock, its all old hat stuff his staff had told him about, and it affected nothing

If you want to bitch and moan that he didn't cross his Ts and dot his Is, fine...us democrats are all going to burn in hell, happy?

Why does Gore get an exception here? The Chairman keeps calling him Mr. President. Gore is allowed to violate the rules. And everyone is ok with this? The entire this is a gross disaster of protocol and a complete SHAM! I can't believe people don't see this.

The GOP knew exactly what he was going to say
No they didn't. And they were unable to get expert counter opinion because of it.

If you want to bitch and moan that he didn't cross his Ts and dot his Is, fine...us democrats are all going to burn in hell, happy?
I'm not bitching and moaning because he didn't cross his Ts and dot his Is. It seems he did so within his speech. My problem is that counter opinion didn't have that same respect. All the threads you've made about the GOP violating protocol and myself and many conservatives here agreeing, it's amazing to see such leniency here.

Oh yeah, you right-wingers are really supportive of getting Rove under oath and every other scandal I'm sure you guys are going to be right behind us fighting the Bush machine

There are SO MANY anti-GW scientists according to you guys, they couldn't call them weeks in advance for some advice, they couldn't call economic experts, pundits? They are all helpless morons?

Again, all he said in his opening was what he said in a movie thats even been on DVD for months, you're saying these GOPers were too stupid to find ANYONE to talk to who disagreed with the movie?

Either anti-global warming congressmen are idiots or there is no real credible anti-GW scientist

So did Gore break the rules, yes or no?

Also, did he really say all factories that create Co2 should be shut down? How do you feel about that?

What does Rove or anyone else's views of Rove have to do with this?

I think in the end the Democrats as the controlling party gave him a full waiver, so no rule breaking

He didn't call for that either

I know. but is it scandalous? Seriously, out of all things, this is so bad why?

I do get your point....but seriously this is just pathetic. he's 48 hours late as of right now...and the article is a day old, the info could have been sent already

big fucking deal.

Apparently it is to Gore, and apparently this is just another case where he thinks he's too important to follow a rule.
