When politicians make the laws and then turn right around and break them, POLITICS has turned into garbage.

Gore knowingly broke laws. He KNEW when he went to that temple that it was fundraiser-related AND he knew it was illegal, but he went and collected the money anyway and when asked about it either lied or admitted it depending on who he talked to and when they asked. He KNEW when he was making fundraising calls from his office the he was breaking the law. He KNEW when he took money in donations from the felons that he was breaking the law but that didn't stop him.

no, this forum's turned into countless posts with nothing but strawman jabs at specific politicians in order to get a daily "gotcha" against a specific political ideology.

It's no longer about debating politics, policy, or issues.

every other thread degrades into people making stupid half-jokes and sarcastic comments and essentially jerking each other off.

seeing daily ZING! type posts is bringing down the integrity this forum was supposed to bring back that was lost in

This thread is the same kind of thread I would have made when Moore was making films people bothered to go see. He was a pompous windbag and so is Gore. They're both nothing more than front-men for a cause that's filled with lies, deceit, and self-promotion. Moore is a nothing today because he fell into the trap of believing that he was actually doing good work...he believed he was a serious filmmaker.

Gore is following the exact same path. He used to be a serious politician. He used to do good work. He *DID* help get the internet going...he *DID* have involvement with Love Canal...he *WAS* important in the "clean up the world" effort, and all of those were important efforts. But now he's gone completely batshit crazy. He's falling back on old tricks of lying and hoping nobody notices. Like is shown in the other thread, he didn't submit his testimony because he doesn't want people to scrutinize it. He wants to get up there and say shit like "The planet has a fever. If your baby has a fever, you go to the doctor. If the doctor says you need to intervene here, you don't say, 'I read a science fiction novel that says it's not a problem.' If the crib's on fire you don't speculate that the baby is flame-retardant." ... and yes, that's a quote. He actually said that.

He's a fucking nutjob and it's sad, because he *DID* some good work. Too bad he now believes his own lies.

Has anyone reported on the Malaria B.S. he spouted today? The Consensus is that Global Warming has very little to do with the recent spread of Malaria and a great deal to do with the DDT Ban!

I read a story by one of the leading malaria experts in the world said he has been trying to tell Gore for years that this is false. One of Gores people responded something like "Well, we didn't get everything 100% right but we are in the ball park."

So they know it's a lie, yet they keep spreading it. Amazing.

No evidence of any illegal foundraising was found by Kenneth Star, not enough apparently to bring up any charges.

Regarding the truth he "stretched," there's no such thing as an honest politician.
