| There's a few misconceptions in this thread. Gore's company that he buys his offsets from invests in the companies listed, openly. They don't try to hide where the money goes. They claim they are investing in those companies because they're sound investments and those companies are attempting to do something Green. So essentially what Gore is telling us to do is change our way of life or buy carbon offsets. Carbon offsets are a class issue. Only the wealthy can really afford them. Therefore he's saying "You guys change your lifestyle" I'll just invest in Green companies. Therefore I can do what I want by lucratively increasing my portfolio and shame you into changing your carbon footprint. Gore profits from this company, it is set up in such a way to make money. How much money he's making we don't know. He moved the company overseas and refuses to disclose his private income now that he is a private citizen (hence the reason he likely isn't running for President, this would all come out. Which is why I knew he wouldn't run). Al Gore has a lot to gain politically and financially by scaremongering people to take his advice. | ||||
