Socialized medicine is a joke, even the dems are criticizing it...

I find it hilarious that all these people that argue in favor of socialized medicine are coming down ridiculously hard on the VA system now that it appears as if they can blame Bush. When previously they were touting the great improvements made since 1997.

Walter Reed basically in poor condition and a host of other hospitals in ridiculous condition. There was a lady on GMA today she was the head of a hospital in San Diego. She was actually making excuses for why bats are a good thing in the hospital and why htey should be allowed to fly around. "They're insect control and kill many bugs that can carry disease" as opposed to diseases that bats carry?

ever heard of BUG SPRAY??????

This is a perfect example of why we do not need socialized medicine ESPECIALLY in this country.

I have been criticizing it for a while.

I would be happy if they toned it down to universal healthcare for people under 18 years old. I know that still wouldn't make a lot of people happy, but I think it's a good compromise. Kids should get an opportunity to become contributing members of society.

I think Walter Reed is a different story all together. The government and/or people in charge of the hospital decided not to fund an appropriate level of care. They did this knowingly, not because of a lack of money or too much bureaucracy.

Dismissing the VA because of Walter Reed and the Bush administration is like dismissing our soldiers as pathetic because they haven't stabalized Iraq

Wow, we actually agree

I have become a firm believer in universal healthcare for those 18 and under. This will provide across the board coverage regardless of parental situations.

I think that if a candidate can bring this to the table it would draw in a lot of people that a full universal system would scare off.
