| If some want to make the statement that all handouts are good and non-insulting or all handouts are bad, then fine However, the rest of us will believe that when people start pitying you and giving you money, it's different than taking the interstate | ||||

| What's the difference between taking a handout from a single person or taking a handout from a large group of people, some of whom are grudgingly affording that handout? You got it wrong, good sir, I do think that some handouts are bad while others are good. Quite frankly, I would much rather take a handout from an individual that is doing it willingly, rather than from a group of people that are being coerced into doing it under the guise of "entitlement." | ||||

| For those calling it a "straight up hand out" i will have to differ with you in most cases. Get upset when illegal immigrants get to use medicaid. Do not get upset in a blanket type fashion and apply it to everyone. A lot of people worked their entire lives paying taxes into the system. My granpda has his first job at the age of 15. Joined the navy reserves and worked until he was 68 years old. Paid taxes and the whole bit. He will get some prescription and basic visits covered by medicaid and I would hardly call it a hand out in his case. I dont consider any of my tax money being a "straight up handout" to people like him. | ||||

| Nothing in my post was untrue or dependent on libertarian philosophy. If you think otherwise, feel free to point out the flaw. | ||||

I've said before that I think his heart is in the right place and if his first response to medicare is, "well I'll just do it for free" then that is awesome. But do you guys really not think that if his response is something like, " We can just work out cash payments or I can waive most or all of the bill", puts someone(not a libertarian) who was counting on their medical service being paid for in a shitty situation morally? | Medicaid and Medicare both have lists of doctors that will accept them. Why would someone see a doctor that is not on that list? This is such a retarded nitpicking insult that, quite frankly, is rather shocking to be coming from a group of people that pride themselves in being altruistic. | ||||
