The Siena College Research Institute telephone poll of 622 registered New York state voters was conducted March 19-22 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points. The Democratic sample of 277 voters had a margin of error of plus or minus 6 percentage points while the Republican sample of 180 voters had a margin of error of plus or minus 7 percentage points.

OF INTEREST: A January poll from Siena had Clinton the favorite of 58 percent of Democratic voters in New York, but that poll did not include former Vice President Al Gore. Gore's inclusion in the latest poll took support largely away from Clinton.
