| Fifty percent of adults would not vote for Clinton By Kelly McCormack March 27, 2007 Half of voting-age Americans say they would not vote for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) if she became the Democratic nominee for president in 2008, according to a Harris Interactive poll released Tuesday. More than one in five Democrats that participated in the survey said they would not vote for Clinton. Overall, 36 percent say they would vote for the former first lady and 11 percent are unsure of their top choice. Forty-eight percent of Independent voters also said that they would choose another candidate over Clinton, the poll, which surveyed 2,223 potential voters, states. Fifty-six percent of men said that they would not vote for Clinton, while 45 percent of women said that she would not be their pick. In addition, 69 percent of those 62 and older said that they would not vote for Clinton. Nearly half of the respondents said that they dislike Clinton’s political opinions and Clinton as a person. Fifty-two percent of people also said that “she does not appear to connect with people on a personal level.” TheHill.com - Fifty percent of adults would not vote for Clinton > So Hillary may not be the darling of the democrat party people might think. This could also mean that Americans are just not ready for a woman PResident yet, despite all the "President and her husband too" jokes that floated about the Clinton era. | ||||

| She is a professional politician. We don't need one of those and people are frankly tired of them. I want to see Wes Clark or Joe Biden, or both, on a ticket because they are willing to tell it like it is. Regardless of who gets the nomination for both parties, I will most likely vote for the most qualified one that doesn't blow sunshine up my ass. I will write in Wes Clark if i have to, but i'd prefer to vote for one of the nominated. | ||||

| It would be very easy for Republicans to find quotes from Hillary over the past 15 years, that could make her look radical, very liberal, and lacking leadership qualities. She would have to spend most of her time defending her past, even though she seems to be a decent candidtate. | ||||

| I don't think it has much to do with her being a woman. I think it is personality over politics. Even liberals have problems with her!

| Definitely not my favorite candidate by a long shot, but I'd vote for her over someone who'd continue Bush's policies if I lived in a state where my vote really mattered. | ||||

| Yeah and there are polls showing her beating McCain or Rudy, and that's not taking into account women voters, that, in the summer of 2008, would register to vote for Hillary because of her huge campaign of electing the first woman Everyone was so sure no one would elect the governor from a small southern state who was plagued by charges (many believed while they voted for him) of sexual misconduct after Bush I had just won a decisive victory in the Gulf War and cured America of its "vietnam syndrome" | ||||

| I can't possibly see myself voting for her. Not because she's a woman. I think a woman would do a fine job, just not this woman. If she wins the nomination I will be either writing in a vote or going 3rd party. But who knows? It's going to be a while before I would have to cross that bridge. | ||||

| The fact that state primaries are being scheduled earlier and more of them grouped together will probably help the front runners ( Obama and Hillary ) who have the most money. It will be harder for a relative unknown to establish a national campaign. | ||||

| I remember when people were first talking about her running they were all saying how great she was gonna do and nobody from the GOP could touch her. She ain't doin too well. And I really don't think she's gonna go anywhere but down from here. This doesn't surprise me in the least. | ||||

| can we save all these quotes for posterity? could you guys take 5 seconds, get off your chair, and look in the mirror for a five seconds You are all middle-upper class white males...do you know whose vote NO DEMOCRAT is going to win? MIDDLE-UPPER CLASS WHITE MALES Pretty much 99% of the country only knows two things, bill cheated on her (aww) and all the trash the right-wing has been throwing on her for 15 years non-stop...even with all that, there are polls where she beat Rudy or McCain...and she blows conservatives out of the water When she starts up her huge war machine for the general election, trust me she has a high likelyhood of winning | ||||
