| When was the last time America looked so weak? Most of the world has lost respect for America. Militarily, our once super-duper-big-swinging-dick army has been showed to have a huge, gaping flaw-- if you can get us fighting in the streets, we're screwed. Apparently the biggest military budget in the world can't win against ghetto rigged bombs hidden in trash on the street. Economically, the dollar is looking weak as hell, and everyone knows the economy will sink with just one more terrorist attack. Kim Jung Il and Ahmedinejad are taking full advantage of our weak position and showing, without a doubt, that there's nothing to be afraid of when it comes to America. Hell, they basically plucked our biggest ally's soldiers out of the water, and now Tony Blair is taking it like a bitch, while Bush issues "stern words" . What about the future? China is rising up as a military and economic super power, and who knows how we'll deal with them. Nuclear proliferation is spreading, and there's really nothing America will do about it...and once our enemies have nukes, we can no longer attack them, but they can attack us. Sure, we'd probably nuke them back, but who gives a shit? They want to die and get their 72 virgins, we don't. They still win. Oh, and I forgot! We're so addicted to cheap gas, the psychopathic durka durka's in Middle East are sure to have us all by the balls for at least the next century. Can someone please tell me what the bright side is here for America and how things are not really, really bad right now? | ||||

| fighting in the streets isn't what makes us weak. Trying to not have excessive collateral damage is what is doing that. If we had decided to steam roll Afghan and Iraq then there wouldn't have been much anyone could do about it. In my personal opinion the people that base US policy on what other countries think is what is making us weak. The fact that our politics have gotten to be a joke and extremely divided. The fact that most of the young voters don't care about issues but are swayed by nice sound bites and following "the fad" (when I talk to most younger people about their views very few can even talk about the issues beyond "I hate Bush" I think our only hope is to either have a massive reform movement happen in congress or a war with a country that will unit the american people, much like WWI and WWII. | ||||

| well neither is happening so get used to a Democratic White House and Congress, new liberal Supreme Court Justices, in what I am sure you think will be the downfall of America (like every republican has said every 2 years since 1930) | ||||

| Well I do have to agree that I believe the Democrats will be the downfall of America. (hehe) The extremes of both parties will be the downfall. Although I think the extreme left would kill the country much quicker than the extreme right would. Last edited by smokie700; 04-03-2007 at 07:48 PM. | ||||
