my mother-in-law is pissed

Wife, kids, and I went to church with my in-laws. When it came time to get communion I didn't go. Wife and kids went up. Wife got communion, kids were baptized in that church so they got a blessing.

Mother-in-law said I should have gone and just had a blessing. I (as politely as possible) said "no, thanks." I didn't say it, but I know she only wanted me to do that because then nobody would have asked why I didn't go up...they all would have assumed I got communion. But I sat in the pew instead.

The in-laws' next visit should be fun!!

It's great having in-laws hahaha. Especially the prim and proper ones that want their family to look perfect in every way. Good luck

It's just that it was easter and *all* of her friends were there. The church/my in-laws are 2 hours away so we don't go all that often. Ironically I'm enrolling my kids in Sunday school. I think it's important for them to learn about it until they're old enough to make up their own minds whether they want to follow it or not.

I went to sunday school when I was little. I got in trouble all the time for asking too many questions. I even went to a catholic middle school. I think Catholic schools have a higher quality of teaching than public schools for the most part, but the religion class was a bit much.
