They all say things like that when they get cornered in media interviews.

And they totally ignor the real long term problem among blacks. The high rate of single parent births and high school drops outs. That is what is generating more poverty in the black community, not a stupid remark by Don Imus.

ABC News Law & Justice Unit

April 10, 2007 — The office of North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper will announce that he is dismissing all charges against three Duke Lacrosse players, ABC News has learned from sources close to the case.

Special prosecutors from the attorney general's office took over the case after Durham District Attorney Mike Nifong recused himself in January amid charges of unethical conduct filed against him by the North Carolina Bar.

UPDATE: ALL CHARGES DROPPED!

No Credible Evidence! Prosecutor Overreached!

This was just a travesty. It's amazing what can happen when a Democrat district attorney sees a situation where he can punish "rich white kids" for attacking a poor black girl. Other libs and Dems piled on. The innocent players were suspended from school. The coach resigned. The whole team was shut down by the university. Professors and students held protests and black "leaders" flew in to be on TV and show support for a lying, drugged up slut.

This was nothing but incrimination by race and class. ALL evidence pointed to innocence but some of that was covered up by an eager DA. He needs to be disbarred. Then brought up on charges. Duke needs to get written apologies from all the professors that spoke against the players and write one up themselves. Two of the suspended players decided not to go back to Duke and I don't blame them. Duke should pay for their college of choice.

In a thread in the Speakeasy one of our members talked about the Rutgers lives being "ruined" by three words from a moron DJ. Such bullshit. What happened to the kids at Duke will "ruin" someone. Imagine what horror they were going though thinking they were going to be arrested and go to prison for something they didn't do. A whole community had decided they were guilty and talked hate. Suspended from their school and not knowing what was going to happen in their future, and the whole time a Democratic DA with an axe to grind kept on showing up on TV talking about how guilty these "hooligans" were. THAT, is a nightmare.

I'm glad the truth came out. I hope some people learned a lesson from it, but the ones that need the lesson the most will ignore it and do the same things they have always been doing. Some will never learn.

I can hear it now.......... <sharpton> "In this particular case it appears the girl may have been confused so charges were dropped, but ALL ACROSS AMERICA things like this happen to people of color EVERY DAY (can I get an "amen"?). EVERY DAY we have to subjugate our heritage and kowtow to the man for scraps, SCRAPS I SAY! Even though this case may not have panned out that DOES NOT MEAN, I say THAT DOES NOT MEAN these injustices are not present in our everyday lives! <hammer fist on podium> Let this serve as a warning, we will be watching. We will take notice!! We shall overcome!!"

cliffs: "oh fuck, she lied. We can't let that stop the donations or I won't be able to afford support for all my illegitimates!"

why is there a constant need to throw in an entire political party and ideology into this when it's clearly not related at all.

trolling, yet again.

You don't think the poor black girl Vs. rich white boys had any ideological side to it? Because that is the way this was clearly played before the annoying lack of evidence came to light!

This really is ridiculous. These kids need to sue jackson, sharpton and all the other assholes that condemned them in front of the country. All of these guys have had their lives delayed and on hold for far too long and will live forever with a tarnished reputation. One of the kids graduated a day before being indicted and lost his new job on wall street as a result of the criminal investigation. The DA, Duke, Jackson, Sharpton and all the other finger pointers owe these guys millions IMO.

You don't think this was all political?

Duke Prosecutor To Face Challenge, Durham County GOP Chairman Plans To Run Against District Attorney - CBS News
No Republicans ran in last month's primary election, in which Nifong defeated two Democratic challengers and appeared set to remain in office following an uncontested general election in November.
He was making a name for himself. He didn't do it just because he was an asshole, he did it because he was trying to keep his position and I assume move up.

Of course he did. He was a democrat running for office in Durham, NC (very heavily black). He found a way to get his name in the paper and on TV. Almost everyone knows who he is now, and guess what, it worked! He was re-elected during this charade! He put his ambition in front of the law and what is right. And THANK GOD, some people with level heads found the truth. Not like it was that hard to find. Hell, we all were starting to hear the truth come out months ago and we weren't privy to everything.

Face it, it was a liberal extravaganza when this case first came out. College kids, professors, black leaders all came together to condemn and let out their rage. They had a field day with it.

Here we go!!!

"We respect the integrity of the Attorney General’s investigation and supported the involvement of special prosecutors. If his office believes the state lacks sufficient evidence to convince a jury beyond a reasonable doubt that all the elements of each crime took place, then it is the state’s constitutional duty to dismiss the charges. ... Now, as we have repeatedly said, comes the hard part. How do we proceed toward the healing places in our communities and our hearts? Long after the television vans with their saucer antennas have pulled out of Durham, long after the bloggers have grown weary from typing, those of us who believe in freedom and justice can not rest. How do we work to ensure that the final decisions in this case in no way deter women of color from making claims of violations against them which violate their spirits and their bodies?"

— statement from William J. Barber II, president of the North Carolina NAACP
More liberal garbage from a liberal organization. My first highlight shows his saying they didn't have enough evidence. Hey moron, did you hear what they said:

Prosecutors dropped all charges Wednesday against the three Duke lacrosse players accused of sexually assaulting a stripper at a party, saying the athletes were innocent victims of a "tragic rush to accuse" by an overreaching district attorney.
They were innocent. They didn't get off on a technicality. They didn't get a lucky break from our justice system. They were INNOCENT.

The ignorance of people like this amaze me.
