The only reason they did one with the 2nd son (born 2002) was because my wife was 35 and that's considered "high risk." That happened at her 20 week appt. He, too, was fine.

I've had 6 so far (I'm 21 weeks) due to issues. I only had one with my daughter (born in 1997) and I was scheduled to have 2 with this pregnancy (one at 8 weeks to date the pregnancy and a routine 20 week anatomy check).

It's a drawing. Grow up. Again, if I wanted shock I would have put up the real photo of the completely developed baby with the flat head lying on a table.

Though it won't accomplish anything, I have no problem banning this procedure since I'd be all for banning abortions completely.

It has shit all to do with the mother's body and more about the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness of the baby

I'm not quite sure. The first trimester is a tough one to really make a decision on. I think I lean more towards brain development and organ development as a sign of baby-dom.

Abortion in general (not just this specific method) is barbaric and horrible and I wouldn't want anyone to have to go through it.. but it's not my decision to make for other people and there are definitely valid reasons why someone could chose to end their pregnancy..

I fail to see where I (or Congress) have the right to impose my will on what should be a decision between a person and their physician.. but considering things like the Schavio case I suppose it's not too surprising.

What we really see here is a conservative Court validating conservative doctrine by backing up bad law through judicial activism [yes, the same judicial activism that has been present for the left until recently, and which Republicans happily rail against when it's not their causes being supported.]

At the very least, there should have been an exception for the health of the mother in this law, and the fact that it wasn't should have rendered it unconstitutional until one is put in.

The good news, though, is that the Democrats control Congress, and will hopefully control the White House in '08 and can begin undoing some of the socially backwards programs Bush has been implementing, like abstinence only education (which will lead to more abortions when kids don't have the proper education when they do have sex), adding in reasonable exceptions for the health of the mother, and so forth.

Very well said. The second thing I've agreed with Kerry on was when he said (paraphrased) "I'm personally against abortion and hope no woman ever needs one, but I'll support her if that's what she chooses."

you have no right to life, liberty, or the pursuit of happiness if you are inside of another person's body

They can't even say the "A" word and you want them to recognize another life?

Not to mention that the legal concept that you can do whatever you want to your body is absurd. Do you want me to resite the medical laws? Controlled substances and prescription medication for a start?

Nice sentiment, but EVERY pregnancy is a health risk. That means 100% late term abortions on demand!
