What about the frenzy from the far left about how we are preparing to invade or bomb Iran any minute now without good evidence? I have been hearing that for years now! How does that lesson our relations?

| Apparently George Soro's propaganda machine that the feeds the media and mainstream Democrats made an ad about it...
HotAir has the response... at the bottom of their page Hot Air » Blog Archive » Video: MoveOn’s dishonest anti-McCain ad; Update: “Lighten up and get a life” The video on the first page of this thread puts the statement into context. I think McCain's response was fairly appropriate. Rather than make it into a serious issue, he made a joke about how ridiculous it was for people to attempt to make an issue over it to slander him. While probably not the best move for foreign policy and certainly not the best for his campaign, I think it was the response I would wanted to give in his shoes.

| It'll be a good ad, it shows a great reason why he should not be President of the United States considering where we are right now as a country diplomatically with the rest of the world and with the situations we are in.. piss poor judgment. When someone asks you when we're going to "send them an airmail message" and you respond with "bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran" as someone who could potentially be in the position to do it, it's rhetoric. Did he mean it as a joke? Sure, but it's still a judgment issue. It's hilarious to me how the right swoops in to defend this wildly inappropriate "joke" about starting another war regardless of what all going on with Iran, but one or two missing words from Kerry's sad attempt at humor and he hates the troops | ||||

| He wasn't making a joke about starting a war with Iran. He was making a joke about people who wanted to start a war with Iran from the way it looked to me. | ||||

| No matter what he was attempting to say, it probably isn't a subject that should be joked about by a Senator and Presidential candidate.

I am not a big fan of McCain, but this does deserve "Get a Life." Compare this to the Speaker of the House in line for the Presidency who tells the Middle East Press that Israel is ready to start Peace talks with Syria when she was told in no uncertain terms that they would "not" begin any such talks until certain conditions of behavior were met by Syria! And this stump speech question is a diplomatic gaffe?

And even if your first paragraph was how he meant it, it did not come off that way to many people. Someone asks basically how he plans to deal with Iran, and he says "bomb iran" jokingly, then says them pushing Isreal around is not acceptable. Since those two things aren't mutually exclusive, he can want both for all we know. Had he said "I say we bomb the shit out of them!! Naw, I'm just kidding, we should be diplomatic and try to avoid war" then it'd have been different... still pretty weird, but different.
