| The bad news is that we could give fairly simple quiz on the topic of Middle Eastern politics and religion to our present administration and I bet there would be a lot of low grades. The alliances, factions, ethnic groups, 1000 year old grudges are so extremely complicated. But we just can't think we can talk tough, " rattle our sabers " , and expect the Arabic world to be afraid and do what we ask. | ||||

The only reason Iran is an issue (ignoring political rhetoric) is because more powerful nations don't like it. Any of the current 'nuke club' can pretty much develop whatever they like and no-one says anything of consequence. When it comes down to it, Iran cannot have weapons simply because more powerful nations do not want them too, everything else, including supposed risk is merely an exercise in justification. | ||||
