If we concentrated on our relationships instead of trying infringe on the soverignty of other countries, we wouldn't even be thinking about Iran using a nuke... similarly to how we never thinkg about England using theirs, or any of the other nuclear enabled countries.

This only works when you have responcibility and restraint. For example, the Soviets had complete military control of their Nukes in Cuba. They were no so dumb to turn them over to Castro! Now if we are lucky then all the Destruction of Israel prophecy talk coming out of Iran is just rhetoric for the people. But what happens if they decide to make it happen? That they are the instrument of Allah in starting WWIII? That makes anybody safe?

I never said them having a bomb is the best thing for the world either. All I'm saying is that it's none of our business. And when we understand that, we'll have better relations with them.

The bad news is that we could give fairly simple quiz on the topic of Middle Eastern politics and religion to our present administration and I bet there would be a lot of low grades. The alliances, factions, ethnic groups, 1000 year old grudges are so extremely complicated.

But we just can't think we can talk tough, " rattle our sabers " , and expect the Arabic world to be afraid and do what we ask.

I don't think *any* nation should have nuclear weapons, yet no one really expects all nations to give then up.

The only reason Iran is an issue (ignoring political rhetoric) is because more powerful nations don't like it. Any of the current 'nuke club' can pretty much develop whatever they like and no-one says anything of consequence.

When it comes down to it, Iran cannot have weapons simply because more powerful nations do not want them too, everything else, including supposed risk is merely an exercise in justification.
