touche.

Good point but it still does not show how anyone can tell me what to do with my awards. the freedom of speech says they can say their thoughts but to condemn it is infringing on my right to do what i want with my property.

Edit: +1 rep point for Kytro for catching my technical foul.

That was my point. I wasn't comparing it to the type of employment you see at a fast food restaurant. The people control the military. It's direct through representation and constitutional.
Its indirect and to claim it is direct is bullcrap.

It can't be any more simple than "all funds they receive must originate in the House of Representatives, those popularly elected every 2 years".

It most certainly is direct.

The people elect officials to command and supply the military. It's like we vote on who will be CEO and CFO. Obviously the old lady down the street doesn't issue orders to someone, but don't think that you don't answer to the people.

I answer to my chain of command not anyone on the street. By your logic a customer of mcDonalds is the employer of everyone at McDonalds simply because McDonalds gets their money.
voting for people who set policy =! being the employer

I guess we could just keep arguing back and forth, but you would still be wrong.

We are more like stockholders in our country.

Wouldn't you say a stockholder is of a company is ultimately the employer since they are the owners? They hire/fire the people who set policy.

we've kind of branched away from the original topic.

They serve the people much like your local police department. You can vote for people in your local/state level, but you most definitely are not the direct employer of your police officers.

This reminds me of the lady that said everyone is a murderer in America because, by extension, they pay people to murder others (she was actually referring to capital punishment).

And why would it remind you of that?

Do you think the Military is not a tool of the civilian government?
