| Poll: Clinton's lead slips in New York AP - THE RACE: The presidential race for Republicans, Democrats in New York THE NUMBERS - DEMOCRATS Hillary Rodham Clinton, 39 percent Barack Obama (news, bio, voting record), 17 percent Al Gore, 12 percent John Edwards, 11 percent ___ THE NUMBERS - REPUBLICANS Rudy Giuliani, 47 percent John McCain (news, bio, voting record), 16 percent Mitt Romney, 8 percent ___ OF INTEREST: Clinton's favorable rating is slipping at home and New York voters aren't quite as sure they prefer her over Giuliani. Clinton led the former New York City mayor, 51 percent to 39 percent in a March poll from Siena College. Clinton's favorable rating among New York voters was at 50 percent in the latest poll, down from 56 percent last month. ___ The telephone poll, done by the Siena College Research Institute, of 980 registered New York state voters was conducted April 16-20. It has a sampling error margin of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
