What is something about your job that REALLY annoys you?

since my company does mostly build to suit type stuff, we are often at the mercy of the the buyers requests. the job im working on now was totally done. it was completely drawn, shelved, and just waiting to be built. now all of a sudden, the owners have decided they need more office space in the building!

so the entire south side of the building now has to be totally redesigned

i hate this building!

I hate when people delete files, they come to me for a restore...i do it and then when i get back they say "oh i found a work around".

OR i hate it when they come to me for a restore and I tell them "nope, apparently it didnt make the differential" and then they say "oh well i will just have to do this then". Its like WELL FUCKING DO THAT BEFORE BOTHERING ME.

another thing that bothers me, is when people turn whats supposed to be a 30 minute project meeting into a 2 hour waste of my time. i just want to say "how about you guys schedule a seperate meeting for THAT job, and let us get back to work!" or "would you just STFU already!"

i never really come across that in my current job, but definately have in the past. i even got so pissed once that i did a print screen of the job board where my name was on every single project and took it to my boss.

My boss never being able to make a god damn decision. He's the fucking boss, yet anytime he needs to decide something, he'll just come to me or someone else he trusts and says "what would you do in this situation"

Makes me want to choke him... I want to say "how about you decide, since that's your job, and leave me alone so I can do mine"

my boss (now former boss) just got fired last friday. he would dissapear for hours sometimes. do weird stuff like sign out to random job sites, sites that nobody could figure wtf he was even going to them for.

now it comes out this week (first week he is gone) that he was doing all sorts of crazy shit. doing side work on company time, not turning in vacation request forms, or reviews :eek:

i always thought he was a pretty cool boss, but i think i was the only one

my conclusion is that since i was the only guy here that HE actually hired, he gave me less shit than everyone else.

what sucks is im a good employee. i do good work, and have never missed a deadline. what difference does it makes? oh well.

I hate that man... my boss, as much as he drives me nuts, is kinda cool b/c as long as we get our work done, we can do wtfever we want. I could probably get away with not coming in for a day and not tell anyone as long as nothing broke while I was gone.

thats how it WAS, before he got fired. he even told me on several occasions that it was cool, as long as i got my work done.

I get threatened to be sued constantly, but whatever.

Some crazy things I've had to deal with...

A customer comes out bitching about the bathroom saying it's disgusting. And we should be ashamed of ourselves and yaddie yadda. I go in there and low and behold there's a pair of men's boxer shorts on the floor with a turd the size of Mt Everest laying on top. What the fuck?

A few weeks ago we had a complaint about a someone letting their child urinate in the auditorium. I go in there with a flashlight and a grandmother starts screaming at me "what are you doing? you're scaring the children, I have children with me.."
Eventually she gets up and leaves and makes a scene in the lobby before going as if I was an asshole or something.

Every shift I have a crazy person story. I hate people. I hate the public. I should probably make a thread and update it everyday after work with all the stupid shit I have to deal with.

Huge projects that are introduced as "something we'll look into in 6 or 12 months" becoming something that "needs to be done by the end of the day, everything else is on hold".

Well I just started a new job, so I don't have much to complain about yet... The only complaint I have so far is that one of the "manager" types gives away all his responsibilities to everyone else under him, myself included, and since he is salary rarely comes in before 10:30 or 11am.

My old job (the bookstore job) ... I hated dealing with the public, absolutely hated it. You'd get things like people coming in saying, "I'm looking for a book, I don't know the author or the title, but I'm pretty sure it's small and the cover is blue ... or maybe green. I'm not sure." then getting pissy with you when you can't find the book for them.

I had a boss like that. He was new, a numbers guy. Didn't know how we operated at all and had NOOOO people skills. So he pretty much had me do all the hiring, firing, reviews, etc. I actually liked it (not the firing though).

Then one day HIS boss (the VP) calls me into his office when I was at our HQ and asks me "So what the fuck does Bill do every day since you are doing his job?"

I just told him the truth. Bill (my boss) was numbers guy. He was fantastic at budgets, reviewing contract numbers, sales numbers etc. I was doing all the stuff so he could concentrate on the stuff that was making us money.

He seemed to like that answer, told me he was really happy with my work and I left

Shoulda been like "Dat fewl ain't doin' shit!" then took his job

I work for the gov't, so incompetance runs rampant. We just changed fiscal years, which is the only time they can fire anyone, and they fired no one. It's a shame, b/c some people really needed to be pruned. But all i can do is my job as best I can and try to stay out of drama
