Biden is talking about some good stuff guys

He spent the first 20 mins talking about the war and he made some excellent points.

Now he's talking about taxes and rolling out the tax cuts for those making more than 1 million a year and rolling out the cap gains tax cuts for everyone.

He's also talking about using part of the estimated 85 billion in income (from taxing the rich) to pay down the debt and help refund SS. He will use 10 billion of that to pay for healthcare for all children under age 18.

Now he's talking about abortion.

Why he's against late term abortions and against public funding of abortions. He feels almost exactly how I do on this issue.

Yeah I agree, but the problem is the government isn't even funding SS with SS funds so they're going to have to make that up, they'll do that with the income tax. Sucks I know but thats how its gonna be or SS taxes will go way up and benefits way down.

Now he's talking about gay marriage and once again I agree with him. He said government has no business telling a church or a religious institution who they can or can not marry. But government has to tear down any disriminatory barriers to marriage that relate to religious beliefs.


edit now he's talking about the criticism he got from calling obama "clean and articulate" how the hell he got in trouble for that is just ridiculous. We're so easily pussy hurt in this country you cant compliment someone without the PC police beating down your door.

Remember when he had to apologize for using some other
pols language in a speech? As though the speech was akin
to commerical literature and should be repleat with footnotes

Iportant things have escaped from the mouths of many people,

To hold one accountable for acknowledging the source of every
utterance in a speech is just plain silly.

Biden would well to speak freely (a play on the 1st ammendment?)
and stop covering his tracks with apologies.

Um they STOLE 1.8 trillion dollars from it to pay for things that is normally paid for by income tax to help out making their deficits look smaller. As far as I am concerned they owe 1.8 trillion tax dollars back to the system because thats what they stole.

you mean WE? politicians aren't going to pull out their checkbooks and write billion dollar checks to put into the system, they are going to tax you and me extra

I sure as hell do not plan on putting the whole Social Security system on the back of OUR generation to make up for the stupidity of politicians that WE did not have anything to do with.

A major part of it started with your guys boy Ronald Reagan to fund the military after his enormous tax cuts. The last 4 presidents have stolen from it. We have to pay for it, yes, but blame them not social security. They should have paid for it the right way.

We took money out of the savings account over the last 25 years, its time we start making deposits back. You don't have to put it entirely on our backs. A lot of them from the GHWB/Clinton/Bush era are on the verge of retirement. Raise the retirement age for them. Revoke SS benefits for all of the politicians who authorized spending that money.

Social Security is not the problem. Stealing 1.8 trillion from it is.

I was 6 years old when Ronald Reagan left office, my generation has nothing to do with his Reaganomics. In fact, my generation could only be blamed for the actions of GWB - we didn't vote before him. You will never convince me that generation X should have to pay back the 1.8 trillion stolen from Social Security by those voted in by the Baby Boomers. They made their own bed, they can deal with it.

Since you will never run a government program that large with long term success, as it has shown, it should be slowly eliminated in the best way possible.
