I wasn't saying that a rape victim is at fault for rape. I was speaking of consensual adults.

But I'm not. And you WEREN'T when we started this conversation. Obviously I agree with you about consenting adults, but if you're going to say the government should force a rape victim to give birth to her rapist's child, then say that the government owes her no funds if she is unable to support the child by other means, then you're insane.

I don't understand why your position changes if the woman is raped. You say abortion is wrong for one reason if sex was consentual but wrong for a different reason if the woman is raped...... why the distinction?

I believe abortion is wrong in all cases because the fetus is a human being. However, in "normal" cases, the added weight of responsibility also applies. This doesn't apply in a rape case. That's the distinction.

Sorry, but "added weight" is stupid. Abortion is killing a child or it's not. Rape, consentual sex...whatever. There is no "added weight" when (according to you) abortion takes a life.

It is like that book and movie "The Boy From Brazil." Even the old Nazi Hunter would not let the young zelot kill off the Hitler clones. "You will not slughter the innocent!"

I would not make it illegal, but the point should be made to the mother. The child can be put up for adoption. She does not need to raise or even know the child by rape.

Have you ever carried a child that was a product of rape? Have you ever carried a child period? It is so easy for you to say that she can "simply" place the baby for adoption. It's not that easy or simple.
