In 2000 we had the closest election possible and roughly 50% of Americans were unhappy with the declared winner. Yet there was mob of smelly youths that took to the street rioting and burning cars. Again in 2004 we had a President win re-election that is clearly hated by a good percentage of the county. Yet we didn't have any rioting.

Our much smaller band of anarchist youth don't care about either party or elections. They would rather protest the WTO or throw rocks at police at Immigration marches like they did in Los Angeles.

University authorities also shut down one site in Paris that was occupied overnight by students who said plans to give universities more autonomy and introduce some selection in student admissions amounted to "hidden privatization."

In other words they might actually select students with good grades who want an education above those who use the Universities as political staging grounds. Oh My!
