whoa, whoa...back the truck up. what liberal agenda? the western media doesn't even tell the hezbollah side of the story, let alone have any bias toward it. from watching the western media, you'd think hezbollah randomly decided to start shooting rockets into israel because they simply hate jews, and these are the same people who did 9/11...all a broad group of islamic fundamentalists. i'm appalled that a war can be going on and the media hasn't even taken the time to objectively lay out both sides of the story. if the only thing they do on the side of hezbollah is throw in a mickey mouse doll, then that's pretty negligible.

I believe that pretty much covers all your "evidence"
There was no claim that the guy in the first picture was the same guy in the rest. I don't think anyone believes there's only a few guys running around setting up scenes like this for the cameras or that only a couple camera men are in on the deal.

I understand not all missiles hit head on. But this vehicle clearly has a cut-out roof with no internal explosion and no surrounding evidence of a missile. Yet the caption says otherwise. It looks like a plant to make a civilian vehicle appear to have been bombed and the media went with it.

"Israel's defense chief: Baptism by Fire" is written in the smoke. The smoke is obviously burning tires, yet they don't tell you that. Very convenient place to have a photographed fire of that size... aka a garbage dump. Again they don't tell you that. The headline and photo are misleading.

By the way the title of the cover story is: Lebanon's new ruins

Our media doesn't tell Hizbollah's side? All I keep hearing about is the poor people who just want their land back and how Israel is going overboard.

When I look at images all I see are images that are majority anti-Israel. They're showing the destruction Israeli is causing or the pain and suffering of the Lebanese.

I look at the US News and World and I see Up In Flames articles referring to Hizbollah or Lebanon's New Ruins. Same stuff in Time.

I don't read news magazines, so I have no idea what they're printing. But I do watch a buttload of news on all the different networks, and I've yet to hear anyone clearly lay out Hezbollah's side. The best they do is have some Arab come on and complain about all the civilians Israel is killing. That's not Hezbollah's side. Hezbollah's side would be the complete picture, like that guy Galloway was trying to lay out in that other thread. A comprehensive view of their side of the story is unheard of. I've heard, non stop, the story of how Israel used to occupy lebanon, and how they don't want to go back in, and how they're there now, etc. Why don't we get the Hezbollah side of the story going back that far? All we get is the immediate damage in Lebanon, which makes Hezbollah look like whiners, complaining about civilian death when they're launching rockets indiscriminately into Israel.

Oh, and how often do you hear that Hezbollah is shia and bin laden is sunni? How often do you hear that the leader of Hezbollah did not approve of 9/11 nor does he approve of targeting Americans? You never hear any of these distinctions which allow you to see the whole picture. All you see is the media lumping them into the broad catagory of "terrorists" because it suits the Israeli agenda...they want to convince us that their land dispute is no different from our fight with Bin Laden, although they're only tenuously related.

Maybe I'm weird, but I could give a flying fuck about who is doing the most damage to each other now. I care about the backstory, which isn't being fairly told on the hezbollah side.

You mean they don't explain the situation all they do is try to muster up Hezbollah support through sympathy and badmouthing the Israelis? Yea that's what I'm seeing to.

All I'm saying is this...I could not for the life of me understand why anyone would support Hezbollah, when they arbitrarily decided to kidnap Israeli soldiers and start raining down rockets on civilians. I thought the world had gone crazy because not everyone was supporting Israel. Of course, I didn't really think that, because when one of the most controversial ongoing disputes in history suddenly seems clear, and one side is obviously right, you know you're the target of propaganda. It wasn't until I saw that clip of Galloway that I realized there is a whole other side of the story that isn't being told. Now, instead of acknowledging that the real backstory behind Hezbollah isn't being told, you're bickering about who best reports on rubble and dolls.

I'm not bickering about who best reports anything about dolls.

I'm bickering about camera men following Hizbollahs around and watching them pick up toys, then watching them plant the toys and finally filming the toys as they lay.

It has nothing to do with anyone's backstory. Israel's backstory isn't being told either. You're complaining as if Hizbollah is being left out to dry in this whole scenario when clearly that isn't the case. Both sides aren't getting their true side covered.

But they're only lying and drumming up sympathy for one side, and this is clear as day.

I don't know about that. I've seen plenty of detailed reporting which amounts to a history lesson on Israel, and every single time it's made to be like Israel is the in the right and defending itself against its crazy neighbors. I've never seen any detailed reporting on Hezbollah and its history, other than investigative reports that take you "inside the belly of the beast," so to speak.

Again, I'll refer to the Galloway clip in the other thread. He's basically telling Hezbollah's side. I've never heard anything like that in any media elsewhere. Have you?

Uh, care to point out any links to major US media trying to create "sympathy" for Hezbollah?

Perhaps you mean the ~million Lebanese people who have nothing to do with Hezbollah's militant wing who've been negatively impacted by Israeli's massive response on civilian infrastructure?

Wow.

People are seriously going to believe this crap? Simply look at the pose that the toy lion is in. They're going to tell me that the lion was left there so perfectly on that isolated slab of concrete?

This just comes to show that the media will do anything for a seemingly breathtaking story; even if it is completely false. They're trying to make blood and war more dramatic; they should be ashamed of themselves as Stylerod said. I could possibly understand misplaced captions; however, the staging of false pictures for the sack of a false effect is simply sad.

The people should be seeing what's really going on without being one-sided.

The people should be able to see both sides of the story. Not a false one.
