After zooming in, notice it's a garbage dump and they're burning tires! You mean to tell me this man didn't notice or smell the tires and the camera man couldn't see it with his lens or from clear site. It's a fraud.

I have been looking all over the net for media fraud regarding the Israel / Lebanon situation. To date I have not found any fraud in favor of Israel.

I don't like the fact that it's staged, but it's not like there aren't children who are dying and having their lives destroyed.

Israel doesn't need to do much of this in a visual sense because they have powerful lobbies that can control and influence how the entire debate and discussion is framed around the world through almost every news outlet.

They don't have the same ability, so they do what they can.

Please. If there's any bias in the majority of reporting, it's pro-Israel. Look at the number of Israeli media lobbies in the US that have a huge say in how the news is reported.

I posted a video awhile back that people decided not to watch, but it illustrates clearly the impact that these lobbies have on the coverage we recieve.

If you think this is a broad conspiracy by news agencies to mislead the public I'm afraid you're simply grasping for straws. There's always going to be inaccuracies in reporting during war.. people just don't generally care enough as long as it paints us or whoever we're friendly with in a good light.

I'm not going to apologize for them because I think staging is bad, but I certainly understand that they don't have a nearly as effective method of getting out their propaganda and distortions as Israel does.. most of Israel's is so effectively integrated into the news we get that we don't recognize it as propaganda.

They do what they have to do to get their message out. The fact that these are stage doesn't lessen the real impact that the ~million Lebanese people are feeling as a result of the destruction of their country by Israel..and if it does, there are serious problems with your preconcieved notion about the value of someones life who happens to not be Israeli, American, or one of our stronger allies..

Well I don't have specific examples off the top of my head from Lebanon, but when he said California was safer than Iraq, I thought it was a lie using misleading data

When basic facts are distorted, left out, etc.. it becomes a lie. There's refusal by news corporations to even use certain words to describe situations because of Israeli media lobbies concerned about how Israel looks to the American public.

It's just so effective that you don't even bother to question it... and neither do most Americans. There's a huge difference in what we see and what the international community sees too, and I'm not talking about soemthing like Al Jazeera, I'm talking about things like British news that show a vastly different picture because they aren't nearly as controlled by lobbies as the US media is.

Also, it's not JUST Israeli lobbies, there's plenty of other lobbies that have far too much of an impact on the impartiality of our news organizations that negatively impacts all of our coverage, not just this specific conflict.

And the NY Times was also making exaggerated claims about it's dangerousness. That's not the issue I'm trying to point out here.

It's the blatant taking a picture and purposely lying about it it's contents.

Brit Hume can say California is safer and back it up with some stupid statistic that makes no sense.

But to take pictures of guys placing toys and then film those toys as something they're not..
Or to film tires burning and make up a caption for it.

Or to film a guy laying down and saying he was dead.

Etc etc..
After a while you have to begin to say hey, this isn't bias anymore. It's just outright lying.

Wow. Those pictures are a shining example of why you have to take anything the media says OR SHOWS with a big ole fucking grain of salt. This goes both ways.
