Romney calls Al Sharpton a Bigot

Here is the Al Sharpton clip:

And Romney's response:

First hands down to Romney for this response. I don't have the words to describe how great it is for a presidential contender to have the balls to call Sharpton a bigot. This alone raises him 10 points on my scale.

I think Sharpton's backtracking is pathetic. It's clear he made a bigoted response towards Romney and Romney isn't backing down. It's great to see this making the headlines and actually getting publicity. Someone stood up to Al Sharpton and the media seems to be supporting him for it. I love it!

I never really cared for Mitt while he was governor here, and even though he's already exhibited his flip-flopping ways, i give him kudos for standing up to Sharpton.

He's been saying things like he never claimed Romney doesn't believe in God, just that he doesn't believe in the same God or some stupid response.

Actually he's been claiming since he was IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERVIEW WITH SOMEONE WHO DIDN'T BELIEVE IN GOD that the quote was directed at him, and Romney was part of the conversation, you took him out context:

Rather, the New York Democrat said he was contrasting himself with Christopher Hitchens, the atheist author he was debating at the time.

"As for the one Mormon running for office, those who really believe in God will defeat him anyways, so don't worry about that; that's a temporary situation," Sharpton said Monday during a debate with Hitchens at the New York Public Library's Beaux-Arts headquarters.
