| That's completely wrong. I don't know how many times I can say "TORNADO ALLEY" and keep a straight face as you guys ignore the "warning" the name gives. Originally Posted by Diesel66

Now lets compare that to someone walks up to you and says I will shoot you the day after tomarrow if you are still in town. And you know it wasnt a random threat, he will really shoot you. If you stuck around, you are a moron.

| I live in tornado alley and have never seen a tornado, I doubt the same could be said about an area below sea level that everyone has been hit by hurricanes. | ||||

| Can't live in CA cause of an increased risk of earthquakes. Can't live anywhere on the gulf coast or even most states on the east coast, cause of an increased risk of hurrianes. Can't live in the midwest because of tornadoes. Can't live in the north because of an increased risk of blizzards. Can't live in the western states because of an increased risk of drought. By your argument, people shouldn't live there, because they 'might die'. Which means, the US is uninhabitable. Brilliant. Worst thread ever. | ||||

| first of all, the reason so many people stayed in New Orleans is because they didn't have the $$ to leave. They didn't have the means. These were very very poor people who have survived generations of hurricanes. They've been told to evacuate over and over again, year after year and the worst never happened. That's what they thought when they were told to evacuate before Katrina. try to understand. try to see it from their point of view. as far as Tornado Alley is concerned, my sister lives in Tennessee. She moved there from Maryland. She loves it. yes, there are risks of Tornadoes, but you're going to get risks wherever you go, it's a matter of what you can handle. for me, blizzards are fine. I can deal with that. tornadoes, hurricanes and earthquakes. no thanks. but that's me, that's why I live in New England now. My sister loves Tennessee and she's not going anywhere. I can see the comparisons, although the time frame involved stretches it. with Tornadoes they can drop down suddenly with no warning, at least there is an advance warning for hurricanes for those who have the means of leaving...... | ||||
