| The Europeans have taken the lead with the diplomacy line, and while I think we do need eyes and ears on the ground in Iran through the IAEA.. labeling them an "Axis of Evil" and using the rhetoric that Bush has about them seems counter productive to accomplish anything, wouldn't you say? And no, of course I don't believe Ahmadinejad. I don't think he has any credibility when he refuses UN inspections. Unfortunately, neither does our President when it comes to accusing other nations of this or that relating to WMD. Because of that, I have no problem with the international community's approach, which seems to be making some progress, even if it's slow. | ||||

| You're not taking into account that we want something from them, not the other way around though. When I say "we", I don't just mean us, I mean the international community. They want their oil. We want a nuclear free Iran through peaceful means. Sure, if you'd rather go to war with them it makes sense to build up the rhetoric to drum up support for such a thing because I mean, they're evil, etc.. but if you want to solve it diplomatically, it's not a good idea.. especially when Russia and China are willing to back them in the UN. Has nothing to do with being a pussy.. and everything to do with positioning so that we get what we want. We don't have to give in to every demand, we don't have to act like a wimp.. we can be firm in our position and still accomplish things. | ||||
