Lets talk about things that you agree with Dubya about

This could be fun. The guy gets a lot of flak from both sides now, so I thought it may be fun to post the things you agree with.

I'll go first.

I agree with him on Immigration, for the most part.

I agree with him on some aspects of his energy plan. I think we need more nuclear reactors.

I agree with him on the current situation in Israel. It's better if we stay out of it and just try and help diplomatically.

Anyone else dislike the guy but have some issues they agree with?

Israel, staying out of it.

Iraq only in the aspect that we need to clean up our mess.

Energy plan minus the ripping the country a new a**hole by drilling everywhere.

I thought his immigration speech sounded pretty good, but I think we need to do more to ensure that our border is secure and that we have a legal process for people who want to work here

As much as we have an interest in taking advantage of the labor that illegal immigrants bring, we have a similar interest in knowing who these people are and that 'undesirables' can be tracked

I'd have to think about more, I've disliked so much of what he's been about lately

I agree with him that we need to hit up more oil sources of our own and other areas of his energy policy.

I agree on the Israel thing

I think that is about it.

Guest Worker Program

Not signing Kyoto

2nd Amendment Issues (other than him saying he'd sign the AWB)

Lower Taxes (but not if he refuses to help/force Congress to spend appropriately)

Afghanistan efforts (even though now it is going poorly because of a seeming loss of focus, leadership, and planning.)

I'm sure I'll think of more and more will be posted.

Yeah, Afghanistan was ok.. until we decided to stop making it and Osama the focus of our attention and turn to a country that wasn't a threat to us

I also agree with certain parts of his energy policy, but I think most of what he speaks is pretty hollow.. especially when his lackies come out after the state of the union speech and say stuff that he talked about (like ending dependence on middle eastern oil) wasn't meant "literally"

I am on the very conservative side when it comes to illegal immigration. I think the borders need locked up and as we find these people they need to go back.

Nothing. He is an embarrassment.

Between the pootie poots, the eating with his mouth open while cursing and addressing world leaders and massaging the leader of Germany...I just wish he would die already. I don't want him representing me or my country anymore.

Lower taxes, regardless of who it helps the most, helps the economy. If it goes to the lower to middle class it helps the economy immediately. If it goes to the middle to upper class it helps the economy even more through investing.

Making harsher punishments for frivalous lawsuits reduces costs on products which benifits the entire country.

A strong military provides an excellent deterrant to nations like Iran or North Korea who, without a strong US presence nearby, would almost certainly be engaging in violent actions.

I strongly support his energy bill. The liberals in America are FINALLY (about 20 years too late) beginning to realize that nuclear power plants of the US can't be compared to Trenobyl, where Russia retrofitted a cement factory. They are finally realizing that nuclear energy equals clean, safe, effiecient, and cheap energy.

As an additional support to his energy bill, I firmly believe that hydrogen fuel cells are the BEST way to wean our nation off oil dependency AND help the environment by providing an effecient means of energy storage and transfer, energy that would come from the aforementioned nuclear plants.

I am firmly in support of what he has done in Afghanistan and Iraq in regards to the war on terror. Al Quedae was once the most feared international terror group and they have been crippled to the point where it takes 2 months for a audio recording from their religious figurehead to creep its way out of the mountains to the public where it is largely frowned upon.

Explaining basic micro/macro economics to liberals in a thread on a political forum? That has cluster-fuck written all over it

So I have seen it about 34 times in here so far where "Democrats/Liberals" hating tax cuts is a bad thing. So does that mean no Democrat ever had any ability to run a decent economy without tax cuts? What about Republicans? You mean to tell me in the history of the country, tax cuts have been the only time of prosperity?
