I had the misfortune of catching 5 minutes or so of the show last week and was wondering if Fox was for real. Not only was it not funny and not interesting... it was flat out stupid and boring. Nobody on the show had a TV personality or a personality at all for that matter and the content of the show was pointless drivel.

I don't know if I read it off an online article or here, but the best point ive heard is that:

Fox just doesn't get it, Daily Show is about being anti-establishment, and making a mockery out of DC...it is not based on being anti-conservative, and if it were, it would lose a lot of its magic and many would stop watching

Also, Stewart and his crew have talent, and are great at getting in new talent...you don't go hiring political humorists, you hire comedians in general

..and yeah, the Daily Show is hilarious because they don't just go run around insulting everything Republican or GOP and NOTHING ELSE, they make fun of the DC establishment in general by making fun of whatever happens to be going on..

Oh well, there's Fox for ya.

Word. Among other things, their problem is inability to attract comedic talent. How many talented comedians would sign up to do purely conservative humor?
