my weekend = red sox and a fight

so my cousin who lives in Atlanta has a scottish boyfriend. her scottish boyfriend has a brother visiting. both boyfriend and brother came up to Boston this past weekend to stay with me and go to two red sox games. I picked them up from the airport on thursday, we went out to dinner and invited along my male roommate. we went out afterwards for drinks a few games of pool.

friday i have tickets to the game as well and after the game we meet up for a drink. (consequently we happened to meet Julian Tavarez and i got a pic with him!) so me and the man go home and the scots stay out drinking. my roommmate asks me to make sure we are all quiet because he has to get up very early to run a 8K on saturday morning. I say no prob and ask the scots to be quiet as well. they say no prob.

fast forward to 8:30 saturday morning. i wake up to go to the bathroom and see brother is not there. i check my email and see an email from my downstairs neighbor (i live on the 3rd floor of a 3 family) says "your friends beat the living shit out of eachother last night on the front porch. they woke everyone up and there's blood on the porch, please clean it up"...

I was like, WHAT???? so i wake up my cousin's boyfriend and ask her what the hell happened.... i guess they were out drinking till like 3am and started to get into an argument. brought it back into the house, then took it onto the porch. older brother kicked younger brother in the face twice. younger brother passed out. older brother took off for a long walk... cops came, pounded on our door, woke up roommate who came down to talk to them. cops leave, older brother comes back, everyone goes back to bed, younger brother packs shit and takes off.

and I slept through the whole thing (i had the AC on). no one thought to wake me up. no idea why.....

so fast forward again... younger brother comes back late afternoon. brothers talk, its all good. i make good with all the neighbors, smooth everything over. but i haven't heard from my roommate. i send apology after apology to him, nothing. finally i hear back sunday night asking if they've left yet. to which i say yes, since i brought them to the airport that morning.

i come home from working out yesterday to my roommate being home and i apologize right away. he looks at me and says, "I'm moving out."

i think i had a mild heartattack, but my other friend is going to move in, so it will all be good, but i still think it was a bit weird.....

and i just wanted to add finding out my other cousin on sunday was pregnant with twins was a VERY happy ending for an otherwise fucked up weekend.

Can't say I blame him, but it sucks if this incident was enough to make him move out... where there ever any other issues in the past?

not really. he said he still wants to be my friend (i've known him for 8 years) and that he doesn't want it to affect our friendship, just he can't live there any more.... my friend (who is now going to move in) was hanging out at my place alot but other than that, i am a great roommate. never loud, i always clean up after myself.. i'm kindof OCD about cleaning... i dunno.

it's just weird is all.

He probably had some issues building up he didn't want you knowing about. If you've been friends for 8 years he'd probably be willing to work through this rather than move out.

Speaking of Boston. The customer that is sitting right next to me at the Hospital in NY that I am working at is from Boston. What a fucking HORRIBLE accent. OMG.

And she has gutter mouth. "Fark dis farking place blah, blah, shit, damn, blah."

my psuedo bf was there too, he didn't wake up either. I asked my roommate why he didnt wake us up, especially when the cops were banging on the door and he said he didnt think to..... i mean come on....

if i knew they were fighting downstairs i would have kicked them out, kicked them in the balls and told them to walk it off or go get a hotel room. god i wish someone had woken me up.

he told me that he was gonna be moving out sometime this summer, but more like late summer, august or september. he's thinking about moving to CA and doing grad school. we have random stupid crap, but nothing big... until this.
