Has anyone else been following the news today? Hezbollah came out and said they would NOT disarm and that they would leave the option of attacking Israel on the table as long as Israel occupied southern lebanon. Then to top it all off they refused to meet with the Lebanon government, something they had agreed to do prior to today.

These people wont even meet with the government much less attempt to let lebanon be controlled by...well...lebanon

and then Israel will be forced to stay in Lebanon, and the "world community" will blame Israel for continuing this conflict.

they want the destruction of Israel. Iran and Syria, I mean hezzbollah doesn't give a shit about Lebanon or the people that live there.

they swiped those two soldiers to provoke war so the Iran/nuclear story would get off the front page and on the back burner

That is rhetoric. Hezbollah wants Israel out of Lebannon. I mean they don't support Israel at all but if they wanted to attack Israel they would have launched those rockets a long time ago.

Hezbollah are primarily Lebonese, claiming they don't care about thier own people is unfounded

In order for that theory to work, it would have to have been predictable that Israel would respond to kidnapping 2 soldiers with a full on war.

Why does Hezbollah have to disarm? They agreed to a ceasefire that didn't include A: Israel's withdrawl from Lebanon and B: Hezbollah HAD to disarm.

If Israel don't leave (including Sheeba) then yes. Hezbollah won't stop fighting completely otherwise

this is the kind of cease-fire the Bush administration said all along (in the beginning) they did NOT want

it effectively means nothing at all - if Israel doesn't leave Lebanon, the Hezbollah fighters for sure won't stop attacking Israel

this cease-fire will probably not cease anything at all

I'm guessing that is largely due to international pressure from those saying we were stifling the peace process and it was blood on our hands with every casualty in the entire region... aka the naïve wellwishers of Europe

And what happened to Condi's talks in the region? I watched her interview with Hannity (i wanted to throw up the whole time because of how they were talking) and they both seemed awfully proud of their accomplishments.

if they cared about their people why didn't they take the soldiers in the first place and then not give them back before the bombing started. That is a great way to take care of your people
