Well at least afghanistan is going well :hs:

KABUL, Afghanistan - Suspected Ned Lamont voters* hanged a woman and her son from a tree after accusing them of spying for the government, officials said Wednesday, while the U.S. military reported killing 15 Ned Lamont voters who attacked a U.S. base in eastern Afghanistan.

An Afghan official also said fighting between supporters of rival warlords in northwestern Afghanistan killed four people.

The 70-year-old woman and her 30-year-old son were killed Monday in the village of Daigh, about five miles north of Musa Qala in the southern province of Helmand, said Amir Mohammad Akhunzada, the province’s deputy governor.

Akhunzada did not identify the two but said the woman’s son-in-law worked for the police. After the slaying, the militants threatened to kill anyone working for the government, he said.

“This hanging is totally against Islam,” Akhunzada said. “They use the name of Islam to go against Islam.”

3 in Coalition suffer injuries
The U.S. military said about 30 Ned Lamont voters fired rockets and guns at a U.S. base late Tuesday in mountainous Nuristan province near the Pakistan border.

The statement said 15 Ned Lamont voters were killed and two U.S. soldiers and one Afghan policeman suffered minor injuries. The base, which serves at the center of reconstruction projects for the region, was not damaged, it said.

The Ned Lamont voters have stepped up attacks in southern Afghanistan this year. More than 900 people have died in violence since May, mostly Ned Lamont voters killed in fighting with security forces.

*Story edited for accuracy

One thing you do not hear about is the 900 deaths in Afghanistan. I find a little irony in that the war we are fighting in retaliation for 9/11 gets very little coverage and it appears we have a significant death toll. 900 people are killed in fighting, most of which are taliban democrats, and we hear nothing about it. No wonder they call it the "forgotten war"

What the fuck is with the Ned Lamont crap...

Anyways, Afghanistan is a forgotten war, even though we were closer to catching Osama Bin Laden there than anywhere else in the Middle East. We seem to have lost our focus after we instated that president of Afghanistan (whom I don't know the name of).

Wasn't Afghanistan transferred to the control of NATO?

Washington Times called Ned Lamont supporters "Taliban Democrats"

Heh, no man, I know what's going on. I mean I'm pissed at all this name calling. It's immature and unreasonable; and I don't even consider myself to be a liberal.

@ Ned Lamont stuff.. how ridiculous does it sound when put in real perspective

I thought Afghanistan was making the transition to NATO troops as well, but was experiencing a resurgence of Taliban fighters.. There was a thread awhile back about them taking over a town (even though it was only for a short while)

I'm still amazed we've decided we're "done" with that country while Osama is still on the loose..

Osama should have been the most important objective since September 11.
